The fantasy football waiver wire is not as strong this week as it has been previously. However, that does not make it any less important as there are several teams on a bye week during week seven. If you are not affected by any bye weeks it may be smarter to take a week off from the waiver wire. Regardless of how you opt to play this week here are five of the best fantasy football waiver wire additions for week seven. All of these players are available in over half of ESPN leagues.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Rondale Moore has long been an interesting fantasy option. It appears like it may be his time to make an impact. Moore has been productive in back-to-back weeks as he has posted over 10 PPR points each week. Moore has seen high usage which makes this production promising. In week five he saw eight targets followed along with two carries and in week six he saw 10 targets. The receiver position in Arizona is in flux. Deandre Hopkins is returning from his six-game suspension, Marquise Brown is injured, and the Cardinals traded for Robbie Anderson. On one hand, you could say Moore is the only player with a defined role on the offense. On the other, you could say he will lose targets to other receiving options. Both are plausible. Moore is a risky waiver wire target, but in a weak group of players, he makes the cut.
This is Anderson’s second entry on a waiver wire pickups list as he was also featured as a good pickup for week two. Since then, Anderson has not been productive. I would not fault Anderson for that as the Carolina Panthers’ passing game has been terrible. Thankfully, as mentioned, Anderson has been traded to the Cardinals. In his new city, Anderson will be given a better opportunity to produce. With that being said, Anderson will face the same issues as Moore. The splitting of the Cardinals’ targets will determine his success. Anderson is still worth the pickup as he will have high value if he carves out a role on this team.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is starting to break out for the Colts. Pierce was a trendy waiver wire target last week, but I was hesitant to include him in last week’s post as the Colts’ offense has looked treacherous. Despite that, Pierce has put off three consecutive productive games. In these games, he scored 12.0, 16.1, and 13.9 points. In this timeframe, he has only scored one touchdown. Pierce is currently producing without being a touchdown-dependant player which is a good sign when playing on a bad offense. Pierce should be one of your top waiver wire targets if you are looking to make an addition this week.
Miami Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki had his best game of the season in week six as he tallied six catches for 69 yards and two touchdowns. In a lot of cases, this could be cast off as a one-time enigma. In the case of Gesick, he has the talent to repeat this type of performance. Plus, the tight-end position has been abysmal in 2022 if you were unable to land a premium player. Gesicki could be a player that you could roster consistently. If he is not, you may prefer to use him as a one-week streaming option. Either way, he is an appealing waiver wire pickup for week six.
Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray is surprisingly a strong waiver wire addition for week seven. Murray took over the Broncos backfield during Monday Night Football as he finished with 15 carries for 66 yards. Meanwhile, Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone combined for four carries. If Murray can continue that trend he deserves to be rostered in your league. The Broncos’ offense may not be cooking at the moment, but it is hard to find a running back on the waiver wire that gets 15 carriers a game. Murray is worth the waiver wire claim.
